Apprenticeship overview

This apprenticeship will equip you with a depth of technical expertise in insurance and its regulatory framework to give you the edge in a highly competitive industry. You’ll benefit from training aligned to your career pathway, becoming a specialist in your chosen area of insurance. You’ll also have the chance to pursue further training in underwriting or claims. On this programme, you’ll also earn a Chartered Insurance Institute (CII) Diploma in Insurance.  

Who's eligible?

  • To apply for this programme you must be employed in a relevant role.
  • Five GCSEs with grades 9 to 4 (A* to C), including English and maths
You must also possess one of the following
  • At least 12 months industry experience, or
  • Be educated to degree level

Targeted Skills

  • Advanced capability in risk assessment, underwriting, broking, or claims, depending on chosen pathway.
  • Confident application of insurance law, regulation, governance, and market practice at a professional level.
  • Strong analytical skills to interpret complex data, evaluate exposures, and support technical decision making.
  • Enhanced client facing communication and negotiation skills, enabling effective relationship management.
  • Completion of the CII Diploma in Insurance, demonstrating higher level technical competence and industry credibility.
