Future Ready Skills is our fully funded apprenticeship skills programme, designed to help you grow, thrive, and stay ahead in a fast-changing world.

Open to colleagues at all stages of their career, these programmes focus on building the skills that matter most in your role — empowering you to develop, progress and shape your future at Santander.

Supporting your development from entry level through to BSc

You’ll need Line Manager & Divisional Head approval to apply as we’ll ask them to sign off your application once we receive it.  All programmes require you to be in a relevant role, in order to meet the learning objectives. Some programmes have additional entry requirements which you’ll find detailed within the programme tiles.

Off-the-Job Training: What to Expect

Manager support is essential for participation in any apprenticeship programme. As part of your development, you’ll commit a minimum of 6 hours per week to apprenticeship learning (based on a full-time contract).

Your 6 hours will typically include time joining BPP Webinars, completing activities and embedding your new skills into your role. All completed within your normal working hours. We recommend agreeing this time with your line manager before starting the programme, so you’re fully supported, able to stay on track, and set up for success.

Off-the-Job Training is not time away from productivity — its time invested in your growth and Santander’s future. Learning goes beyond the classroom and may include project work, mentoring, and tailored development aligned to your role and career goals. The skills you build will directly support your performance, confidence, and capability in role.

Meeting this requirement ensures Santander remains fully compliant with government funding rules and protects both you and the business throughout the programme.

All programmes follow a consistent structure, made up of two key stages:

Programme Delivery

Learning is built around a strong foundation of core knowledge, skills and behaviours required for individuals entering or progressing at this level within the sector.

Delivery is flexible and engaging, combining:

  • Live webinars led by expert BPP tutors
  • 24/7 access to recorded lectures and online learning materials
  • Interactive online teaching sessions, including inductions and masterclasses

You will actively engage with fellow learners through live discussions during webinars and ongoing collaboration via course forums, creating a dynamic and supportive learning environment.

End Point Assessment (EPA)

Once all learning elements are completed, you will progress to the End Point Assessment (EPA). BPP will provide structured support to help you prepare and confidently work towards achieving your Apprenticeship Award

The EPA phase lasts three months, during which you will build a portfolio showcasing your learning and demonstrating how you have applied it in your role at Santander

Following submission, you will take part in a professional discussion with an independent End Point Assessor. This is a valuable opportunity to present your portfolio, reflect on your development, and clearly demonstrate the skills and impact you have gained through the programme.
