You’ll gain a solid understanding of testing techniques and tools which you’ll then use to prepare test plans and data, execute robust tests, and analyse expected outcomes with results. The Software Tester apprenticeship also features practical hands-on projects where you’ll develop the expertise required to excel in testing diverse applications, from mobile apps to enterprise software, as well as supporting the delivery of high-quality software solutions.    

Who's eligible?

To be eligible for this programme you must be in a related role and possess one of the following:
  • Three A-Levels or equivalent (and GCSE English and maths)
OR
  • Significant work experience

Targeted Skills

  • Executing functional, security, performance, and usability tests across the full software development lifecycle.
  • Preparing structured test plans, test data, and expected‑vs‑actual result analysis.
  • Applying industry‑standard testing techniques and tools to validate software quality.
  • Identifying, documenting, and communicating defects clearly to support development teams.
  • Testing a range of applications (mobile, web, enterprise) through hands‑on, real‑world project work.
